Bengaluru's second patient treated with plasma therapy recovers
Bengaluru: The city reported the first case of recovery of a Covid-19 patient who was administered convalescent plasma therapy at Victoria Hospital. The 38-year-old woman who was suffering from severe Covid symptoms was admitted to Victoria Hospital a few days ago.

Indian drugmaker Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd said on Friday it was testing a plant-derived drug, AQCH, for the potential treatment of COVID-19 as part of a mid-stage trial, with results expected by October.
India has made significant strides in the global as well as local efforts to search for a coronavirus vaccine. There are several developments taking place in India and across the world. Firstly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi pledged $15 million to vaccine alliance GAVI. Additionally, Sun Pharma has entered Phase 2 of the clinical trials of AQCH drug that can be helped in the treatment of coronavirus. Meanwhile, WHO has resumed clinical trials of malaria drug hydroxychloroquine believed to be beneficial in the treatment of coronavirus. The authors that claimed that HCQ can pose risks to the health of COVID-19 patients have also retracted their article in Lancet. Trump administration has also selected five companies that are most likely to produce a coronavirus vaccine. The government would help these companies speed up the process.
New Delhi: The national capital is breaking all records in having over 160 containment zones. There were a total of 163 containment zones as on Thursday, according to the Delhi government’s official data . However, a total of 59 zones were de-contained also. New Delhi: Home healthcare provider Portea Medical on Thursday said it has tied up with the Delhi government to provide home isolation services for coronavirus-positive patients. As more than 80 per cent of COVID-19 patients are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms and do not require hospital care, the company has been helping the state in screening patients for home isolation, Portea Medical said in a statement.
